How Can I Read a .prn File
Instead of using the print file format, yous could convert the Give-and-take document to a PDF. It will be readable by you and other people, on most devices (regardless of operating arrangement).

To explain a little further: A .prn file contains the bytes that Word would otherwise transport directly to your printer, through the printer driver. That is not readable by anything other than the printer commuter. Theoretically, you lot could send the .prn file to the printer and it would print out the full formatted document, but I'k not sure exactly how you'd practise that. As far every bit most people are concerned, .prn files are useless.

I concord, .prn files would seem to be useless. What I would really similar to do (I'thousand a author) is to exist able to select something on a document I have up--a sentence, parts of a paragraph, or anything else--become to file-save as, requite the selected bit a new name, and put information technology wherever I want. Just what happens is that when I try to do that, I tin save a new-named file okay, but so when I open it, it's the whole document, not just the selected role. You can do all these sorts of things if you want to impress something--the selected scrap, a series of pages (say, 2-iv), and lots of other things. Merely there doesn't seem to be whatever mode to do that when I'd similar to directly salve any. I starting time have to select, so right-click copy, then call upward a blank Word certificate, and then paste the selected bit, and so I can relieve it with a new proper noun anywhere I want to. This seems a ridiculous roundabout waste matter of fourth dimension and effort.

You tin install a virtual PDF printer driver then impress the selection to that printer. The effect would exist a PDF.
